Niykee has experienced a whirlwind few years including being selected by Snoop to perform with him at the YouTube Brandcast May 2013 Niykee keeps a steady songwriting schedule even though she has been a bit busy. Her songwriting routine is now a source of inspiration for aspiring producers. Niykee listens constantly to beats and finds many which spark thoughts. "I'll be able tell within the first 5 minutes if this is a quality beat. When I've got a melody in my brain I'll begin writing right away." My guitar sits on the back porch and I'll let my words flow. It's usually done within thirty minutes. Niykee keeps working on her talents as a writer and the lyricist. She notes how her experiences of suffering during her childhood has served as an infinite source of unique motivation. "Even when I don't write about my own life in the open it is the loss of my sister as well as my difficult childhood is incorporated into my music," she says. The pain of losing my sister as well as my childhood shapes the songs that I create. It's important to me to find a deeper purpose to what I do.
